Torticollis (Wry Neck)

Torticollis is when your neck muscles tighten and cause your head to tilt or turn to one side, often making movement painful. Gentle mobility work can help ease stiffness and restore movement.

Try this at home or in the office:

  • Neck Rotation: Slowly turn your head to look over one shoulder, then the other. Only go as far as comfortable. Repeat 5–10 times each side.

  • Chin Tucks: Sit or stand tall, gently draw your chin back (like making a double chin) to align your head over your shoulders. Hold for 5 seconds, repeat 10 times.

  • Heat Pack: Apply gentle warmth to the stiff side of your neck for 10–15 minutes to relax the muscles.

If pain continues or movement doesn’t improve, a chiropractor, physiotherapist, or osteopath can provide hands-on care and tailored advice.
